F.A.M.E. Programme

As the parent of a Year 7 student we would like to inform you about a new opportunity for your son/daughter.

Career North Ltd are the company who provide the Careers Advice and Guidance for students in our school. Career North have successfully secured funding from the Careers and Enterprise Company to run the F.A.M.E (Focused and Achieving More from Education) Programme in 5 local schools for one year.

The F.A.M.E programme will provide early Careers Guidance support to all students in Year 7, students will self-action plan and request follow up personal guidance as necessary.

Careers staff, teaching staff and students (who have applied for the role) will be trained and supported to undertake Career Champion roles which will support a wide range of Careers activities during Year 7. The confirmed date for the training will be Thursday 12th December 2019 in curriculum time.

As part of the F.A.M.E. programme we would like to invite you to attend our next Careers, coffee and cake session which will look at how we can support students to identify what might be stopping them achieve their best, find ways to challenge these limiting beliefs and behaviours and increase motivation. The date for this event will be Tuesday 28th January 2020.

Motivation Matters - Tuesday 28th January 2020. Explore how we can, through careers activities, motivate and raise aspirations. Explore the 5 second rule (Mel Robbins) and activation energy and identify 3 tried and tested effective revision & study techniques.

November 2019

In November, Year 7 students and their parents and carers were invited to join us for Coffee, Careers and Cake to discuss future careers options.
